I think my iPhone is mocking me...

I have recently decided that the mornings my Husband is home I would drag my butt out of bed and go for a "run".  By run I really mean a slightly faster than normal shuffle up my street.

It has been many years (many many many years) since I have attempted an early morning walk.
After a number of false starts in the last week, where I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep, I actually got up this morning!  I am so far from being a morning person it is not funny, so I think getting up out of bed before I had to was a major achievement.

Sporting a spunky pair of trackpants and a hoodie  I slide out of the house all stealth like, hushing the dogs on my way past as I shuffle down the driveway, pop in my head phones and open up Pandora radio.  Now because I'm all serious like only the best music will do.  Serious morning exercise calls for the Classic rock power workout station!

Now I love technology and wouldn't be without my phone however I think it was laughing at me this morning.

As I started off my music loads and the first song it decides to play?
Eye of the Tiger!

Unable to fight the urge I may of jogged on the spot and punched the air a few times, doing my best Rocky impression.  Lucky for me no one else was out and about to see it...although I did get some rather unimpressed looks from a couple of ducks and a pademelon!

Sneak Peek

I've been a little quiet lately, it's been busy, busy, busy!

Custom orders are currently a 2-3 weeks wait but in the mean time we have a bundle of new Necklaces and Bracelets almost ready to list in our Madeit store.

The trouble with living in the rainforest is...well, it rains!

Sunlight is the best light to photograph all the beautiful stones used in the Necklaces (and my photography needs all the help it gets!) so I have had to wait until the sun peeked it's head from behind the clouds.  It did yesterday, and I raced out camera in hand to snap them as quick as possible.  Lucky I did!  Just as I was finishing the clouds took over again and blessed us with more rain.

Here is a sneak peek-

New business cards have also arrived! They are printed on 100% recycled paper and I am totally in love with them.

More updates to come soon
Happy Monday Everyone :)

Junior Madeit

Have you seen the new categories on the Madeit website? There is now a Junior Madeit section!
It opened up early April and is already packed full on talent.

Junior Madeit is for those crafty people under 18 years who wish to sell their goodies online.  There is already a bundle of stores in this section brimming with handmade goodness.

Can you imagine the excitement, squeals of joy and dancing from making their first sale?  I certainly can!  (I did quite a dance for my first ever sale)  Its a great way to encourage the next generation of sellers.

My first of I'm sure many Junior Madeit purchases.
I purchased this Lego man badge from Noahs Nick Nacks  and can not tell you how much I love him!  He gets loads of attention whenever I wear him and was hand made by Noah who is six.

Pop over and take a look around at what else is up for offer.

Individually Knotted Necklaces

I've been doing a bit of research lately on different Necklace techniques and now have a (long) list to try.

The one that stood out though was individually knotting the beads onto the cord, very popular with Amber teething necklace as this method adds both a strength and security to the piece.  If the cord does snap only one or two of the beads are lost, so if you have my habit of breaking a Necklace in the middle of the supermarket (normally by snagging it on the trolley in a magnificent feat of unco-ordination) and watching as the beads bounce and scatter across the next three aisles, then this is definitely the way you want to go.

Traditionally Pearl Necklaces are individually knotted to prevent the pearls from rubbing together - prolonging the life of each pearl, making it perfect for our gemstone Necklaces.  Knotting the beads in a contrasting colour adds to the overall look of the piece - another plus.

The only real disadvantage I can find is it is more time-consuming, (and was not as easy as it first looked!)  but to be honest its the kind of repetitive action that becomes kinda relaxing after a while :)

So far I have only listed a few in my Madeit store, mostly because the weather is being unkind at the moment...all I need is 20 minutes of sunlight to snap a few pictures!  There will be many more to come though so keep an eye out.

What I have been up to.

Yep, I know...I'm slack!

I promised updates but didn't deliver, that is going to change.
So....What have I been doing?  Creating of course!  Filling my Madeit Store with lots of Handmade goodness.

Heres a Peek...

I've also been sourcing more quality gemstone beads, playing with my Dream catcher design, perfecting individually knotted Necklaces, and ordering more Wish boxes for Necklaces and Sun catchers.

Phew!  Lots more updates are on there way...

All things have beginnings....

This Purple Haired Freak is embarking on a creative journey and I'm hoping you will come along with me.

The Plan - To create quality Handmade items with a difference for those who are a little different.

Jewellery, suncatchers, beaded bookmarks, and crocheted items to begin with, then anything that takes my fancy in the future.

My creations will be listed for sale in my Madeit store and in the future participating in the odd market.

Its all about the Journey.....
